Emma Wilkinson awarded NCI F99/K00

Rising fifth year CCB student Emma Wilkinson was awarded a prestigious National Cancer Institute Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Transition Fellowship, "designed to encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers." The award facilitates the transition of talented graduate students into successful cancer research postdoctoral appointments, and provides opportunities for career development activities relevant to their long-term career goals of becoming independent cancer researchers. Emma is the sixth CCB student in seven years to be awarded a F99/K00. Her advisor is Yu-Ying He and Wilkinson is studying the role of mRNA m6A methylation in tumorigenesis.
