Benjamin Nicholson awarded NCI F99/K00

Fifth year CCB student Benjamin Nicholson was awarded a prestigious National Cancer Institute Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Transition Fellowship, "designed to encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers." The award facilitates the transition of talented graduate students into successful cancer research postdoctoral appointments, and provides opportunities for career development activities relevant to their long-term career goals of becoming independent cancer researchers. Benjamin is the seventh CCB student in eight years to be awarded a F99/K00. His advisor is Yuxuan Miao and Nicholson is studying the genetic basis of tumor immune evasion in squamous cell carcinoma.
